I just made this on Sunday night (with extra bacon though). My family loved it! My 13-year-old son said it is way better than a restaurant pasta! I’m definitely keeping this recipe close at hand. Thank-you!
My Dad has made this recipe since we were little kids. In fact he has passed it down to my son who loves making it now that my Dad has passed.
So the egg mixture never really gets cooked?
It does get cooked. Add egg mixture into skillet with noodles right after you add the garlic. Hope this makes sense.
Lovely and vibrant recipe!
Kim- Thank you!
I had a roommate in college that used to make it and I loved it. I haven’t had it in years! I can’t wait to give your recipe a try!
Kara- It’s a delicious one!
Looks delicious!
Heather- It really is!
Easy, fast, and delicious- my kind of recipe! Thanks!
Becca- So happy you enjoyed the recipe.
We’ve been making this in our home for over 20 years! It is so versatile. You can add whatever spices you like. We do oregano and basil on occasion. I remember ordering this in a restaurant and it was almost soupy! I was very disappointed because my only experience with carbonara is that it’s a dry spaghetti. Love this! Haven’t made it for a few weeks. Time to throw it back on the menu!
Bonnie- So happy you like this recipe! It is definitely a family favorite at our house too!
