One of my favorite cookie recipes, other than our Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies are these Molasses Cookies. I like them because they are soft, moist and chewy…and they taste so good.
GINGER MOLASSES COOKIES
It is always a good idea to bake up some homemade cookies! Always! Especially this time of year, when the cooler weather begins to set in. These Soft and Chewy Ginger Molasses Cookies are perfect for Fall Weather Baking and for Holiday Parties!
On Sunday afternoons, we love to bake and this past Sunday we all decided that these cookies would be perfect.

Chewy Molasses Cookies
A Good Molasses Cookies Recipe Is So Good And Full Of Flavor. Especially These Ginger Molasses Cookies. Try Our Soft Molasses Cookie For Your Next Get Together With Family And Friends!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups Shortening Butter Flavored Crisco
- 2 cups Sugar
- 1⁄2 cup Molasses
- 2 Eggs
- 4 tsp. Baking Soda
- 41⁄2 cups Flour
- 1 tsp. Cloves
- 1 tsp. Ginger
- 2 tsp. Cinnamon 1 tsp. Salt
- 1 Tablespoon Milk
- confectioner's sugar for dusting cookies
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In a mixer, cream together shortening, sugar, molasses and eggs until smooth and creamy.

Add in the rest of the dry ingredients and mix well.

Pour in the milk to give the dough some moisture.

Roll the dough into 1 inch balls and then roll them in sugar if not frosting them with the icing glaze.

Place cookies on greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 375 degrees for 7 to 9 minutes. Do NOT overbake unless you want Gingersnaps.

Let cool on wire racks.

Dust with confectioner's sugar before serving.
ICED MOLASSES COOKIES
I prefer mine without the cream cheese icing drizzle, but my kids love the icing drizzle and it does make it pretty for a party if you are going to be serving them up to your guests or friends and family.

Homemade Cream Cheese Icing
These Molasses Cookies are great alone! But…I wanted to test out this icing recipe and see how that would taste drizzled over the top! Um…hello! So yummy!
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2 oz cream cheese
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 4-6 tablespoons milk
Instructions

For the frosting, in a medium bowl cream together butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth and spreadable. Spread over cooled gingerbread loaf.

Allow to set up for 1 hour.

Store in airtight container.

Where is the receipe for the cream cheese drizzle icing shown on the cookies
These appear to be coated in sugar. Do you roll the balls in sugar before baking? Also, how big should the balls be and how many cookies does the recipe yield?
Yes, I roll them into sugar before baking. The ball are about 1.5 inches and the recipe make about 2 dozen. Thanks.
