Today I am sharing How to Make a Room Uniquely Yours with 6 helpful tips inspired by the Air Wick Scent Decorator tool!
1. Color
Color has a huge impact on our moods and our thoughts. Your master bedroom should be a room that you go to relax and unwind after a long and busy day. Don’t worry about trends and colors when it comes to adding color to your room. Choose colors that evoke peaceful feelings and tranquility for you. Colors that are tranquil usually come from a palette of soft tones of green or blue; muted, warm grays or browns; or medium shades of warmed pink or yellow. But remember, choose colors that work for you!
2. Tidiness
A master that is cluttered or filled with unfolded laundry can disrupt feelings of peace. It will be hard to not focus on all the unfinished work you may have. Get rid of anything that doesn’t belong or feels cluttered. Clean up, and invest in a few storage boxes to hide away craft supplies, clothes, games or whatever needs to be in the room but doesn’t need to be on display. Minimize furniture and accessories to only those things that are comfortable and that you love.
3. Lighting
Bright light is necessary in most rooms for functional reasons. But when it is time to relax, be sure to turn off the bright lights and use a softer light source. Use a lamp to produce just enough light to be cheery, but not enough to be bright. The soft light helps your body to relax unlike bright harsh light.
4. Texture
Add some soft textures to your room. Put a soft blanket on the couch or bed or place a soft rug on the floor. Try using furniture that has soft lines. A deep, cushioned sofa or comfortable chair are perfect areas to sit down, kick up your feet and relax. Pillows are a great and inexpensive way to add some great color and texture.
5. Personal Items
Be sure to add some personal touches to your room that are meaningful to you. Display a few photos of family, pets or a favorite vacation. Keep the personal touches to a minimum so that your space doesn’t feel too cluttered, but enough to invoke happy and peaceful feelings.
6. Scent
Aromatherapy is one of the natural ways to stimulate relaxation and provide a calming influence. One of my favorite ways to use scent in my home is by using the Air Wick Life Scents Sunny Morning Linen in my master and throughout my entire home. The personal expression in your home is not complete without addressing the air.

Hi! Love this room. Where are the sitting chairs from?

It would be smart to choose a color that fits your style and personality. But, if you do want to remain a bit more cheerful and less depressed, you can go for lighter colors. That way, it not only makes the space appear larger and brighter, it can affect your mood for the better!

So true!
I totally agree with your statement “Choose colors that evoke peaceful feelings and tranquility for you.”
That should be the focus of the Master Bedroom, a private place to RELAX and get away from the world. Great post, thanks!
Thanks.
