Make these delicious cinnamon and sugar candied almonds. They taste great and are packed with protein! Great gift idea or holiday treat!
CANDIED ALMONDS
I have never attempted to make Cinnamon and Sugar Candied Almonds, even though I have wanted too on a few different occasions. They are always what tempt me at the State Fair…I swear they set up some sort of ventilation system and pump that delicious cinnamon-y goodness smell all over to coerce you into buying them.
We recently had a little get together with some friends that we needed to bring a small snack for and I finally decided to make them. I was surprised how simple they are to make.

Carrie @ Kenarry: Ideas for the Home says
Great idea for a teacher’s gift, Amy! I’ve never tried making almonds like this either. For some reason, I thought I had to bake them in the oven. Your recipe makes it sound so easy to do on the stove top!

Thanks Marissa! They always tempt me too!!
Trina says
Hi there, huge fan of your ideas… one question: what size is the mason jar and large container shown in the photograph? Thanks, T
Kellie says
Trina,
To me it looks like a 1/2 pint or 4oz wide mouth jelly jar.
Susan says
Can I substitute pecans for the almonds successfully?
Sue R says
I have a ton of Pecans….can this recipe be used with them instead of almonds??
The Idea Room Assistant says
Sue- Pecans would work great!
I like snacking on almonds, but when I make these..I can’t stop! They are so addicting!!
Kristyn- I can’t either. They are so addicting.
I love making these & sticking in a cute jar for gifts. Of course, not before saving some for my family. My kids love them!
Natalie- Me too!
These make a wonderful Christmas gift. And easy, too.
I have been making these since about 1997 using a recipe with a slight variation. I make them almost every Christmas, for family and friends…that is, until they get tired of these being their only gift. One year I made 33 lbs. That’s not a typo, I made Thirty Three pounds!
I also make a ‘Special style’ version in which after they have been made and cooled, I coat them in melted chocolate (or Candy melts) and then roll in powdered sugar or cocoa powder. DEE-licious and really, really pretty, too!
Thanks for sharing your recipe.
These sound amazing! I can’t believe you made 33 pounds of this! That must have taken you forever! I am going to try adding chocolate the next time I make these!
I also like the nuts in red coating, do you also have that recipe also please.
Carol- I don’t have that recipe. So sorry.
