Today I am sharing how to take a white ceramic house and teaching you how to make a gingerbread house out of it with just a few simple supplies.
USE A WHITE CERAMIC HOUSE TO MAKE GINGERBREAD HOUSE
I love this Christmas craft so much! Wouldn’t it be fun to do with your girlfriends, sisters or other friends and family? Put on some Christmas Hallmark shows or a Christmas movie and create to your hearts content!
CAN I USE CARDBOARD TO MAKE A GINGERBREAD HOUSE?
Yes! You can. Just cut the cardboard into a house shape with four walls and a roof. I would glue them together with hot glue and a hot glue gun. Let it dry and then decorate with the same process as outlined below. You could always decorate the walls when they are flat and then build the house after the white puff paint has dried. Style and display the same way your would the other gingerbread houses.
Wouldn’t this be fun for the kids to make their own Gingerbread houses?

HOW TO MAKE A GINGERBREAD HOUSE DECORATION
Here are just a few simple steps to making these Gingerbread Houses, but they do take a little bit of time simply due to the fact that you will need to allow some drying time in between each step. So, you will want to keep that in mind before starting this project if you wanted to make them with friends and family.
GINGERBREAD HOUSE INSTRUCTIONS
- Take your white ceramic house (or other house) and paint the wall areas of the house brown. If there is a roof, door or windows you might want to leave any areas around them white to add to the overall look of the gingerbread house. You can paint all four sides if you are careful and paint the house so that you don’t smudge the paint on one of the sides you just painted.
- Let it dry completely. This usually only takes about an hour. You can go over an area again after it dries if you want it a bit puffier.
- Then take your white puff paint and paint the accent areas on your gingerbread house. I like to outline the windows and the doors and add some hanging icicles from the roof. Get creative here. There are a lot of pictures you can look at online to give you some inspiration for ideas here.
- You should do this while the house is laying on its back so the front is facing up to the ceiling. This way the paint will be able to dry without running down the front of the house. The puff paint can take a little bit of time to dry depending on how warm it is and the humidity levels in your home and area. Test a small area to see if it is dry before painting another side of the house.
- Repeat the process for all four sides of the house. Then let the house dry completely.
- Take your fake snow and spray it onto the house. Be sure to shake the can very well before using and hold it a little further away from the house until you see how well it sprays.
- I like to leave it so you can see the brown paint underneath.
- *Optional: You can add embellishments or glitter or even small jewels and gems to your house to bling it up!
HOW TO STYLE A GINGERBREAD HOUSE
There are so many fun and creative ways you can style these white ceramic gingerbread houses. You can display them in a book case or on a shelf. I have displayed them in my kitchen hutch sitting on a stack of white plates. I have also placed them into a glass cloche that is sitting on this cute cake stand and added to a gingerbread house village. You could also created a little gingerbread village to sit under your Christmas tree! Most recently, I added one to my kitchen counter and I am loving it! But really, there are so many options! Be creative!

I know a few people would would probably love to get one or two of these for a gift! Wrap up in some cellophane with a cute tag and you have a gift someone would love to receive!
