Make this Sugar Scrub Cubes Recipe for smooth, soft exfoliated skin. Perfect for a DIY gift idea for friends and family.
SUGAR SCRUB
I love making and using homemade Sugar Scrubs. They are so easy to make and leave your skin smelling great and feeling soft and smooth. They can also be whipped up quickly using ingredients you most likely already have in your home.
HOW TO MAKE SUGAR SCRUB
With high quality essential oils, you can create amazing smelling Sugar Scrubs that provide you with some great benefits. Today I want to share with you how to make these fun Sugar Scrub Cubes. They are a little bit different than the regular Sugar Scrubs I normally share, due to the soap base you use.
To make some, you will need the following ingredients:
- Granulated Sugar
- Soap Base
- Colorant (optional)
- High Quality Essential Oil
DIRECTIONS:
- Melt soap base.
- Add 1 cup of soap base to a medium bowl.
- Add drops of food coloring and a few drops of your high quality essential oil.
- Mix together.
- Quickly add sugar and stir. The soap base will harden quickly.
- Pour into your mold.
- If it hardens too quickly you can melt it again in your microwave and re-pour it into your mold.
- Set in fridge for at least 20 minutes so that it can harden.
- Store in an air-tight container.
- Should last up to 3 months if stored properly.

If I wanted to give these to coworkers, could I put them in baggies, if I just want to give them 2-3? I don’t really want to buy jars for 20 people…call me cheap. :) LOVE this idea and will hopefully be making some.
That sounds like a great idea! You could use those small cellophane bags and tie them up with a pretty ribbon!
I am sorry to sound dumb but what exactly is a soap base?
I was going to ask the same thing, what is soap base?
It is Goats milk Glycerin Soap Base. You can buy it here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B28ILM8/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00B28ILM8&linkCode=as2&tag=thidro-20&linkId=QEJCZQL5BCHKFGE7
I am curious why this recipe is different from the citrus sugar scrub cubes you posted a few years ago. The ingredients are the same but the amounts are very different.
Peggy- Mainly this recipe is to hold the shape of the cubes. Great question.
How does the food coloring work? Wouldn’t it stain your skin?
Patty- Surprisingly it doesn’t. Great question.
Any chance you could tell me where those super cute towels are from? TIA!!!!
Andrea- I believe I got them from Home Goods.
