SALTED CARAMEL BARK
I got addicted to this Salted Caramel Pretzel Bark over the Christmas Holidays this past year. It is so good and its easier to make then you might think! But be warned…it is very addicting. You may want to keep scrolling…and pass this one by.
HOMEMADE CANDY RECIPE
This Salted Caramel Pretzel Bark always a hit at the family get togethers. It is a favorite and doesn’t last very long. Today I want to share the recipe with you! You probably have everything you need to make this right now in your kitchen.
INGREDIENTS IN SALTED CARAMEL PRETZEL BARK
- butter
- light brown sugar
- semi-sweet chocolate chips
- pretzels
- sea salt
- pecans or almonds (crushed, optional)
HOW TO MAKE SALTED CARAMEL PRETZEL BARK
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Line an 11×17-inch baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
- Spread pretzels or mini pretzels onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer or single layer.
- Put butter in a small saucepan over medium heat or medium-low heat and melt butter.
- Add brown sugar and cook and stir until sugar is dissolved and mixture is thickened, about 5 to 8 minutes (should look caramely).
- Pour mixture over the top of the pretzels quickly and spread around with a rubber spatula if needed.
- Bake in the pre-heated oven for 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over pretzel mixture.
- Bake for 1-2 minutes more.
- Stir mixture to evenly spread chocolate over pretzels.
- Add a little sprinkle of sea salt over pretzels.
- Cool until set, 2 to 3 hours. Break into pieces.
- Store in an air-tight container
HOW TO STORE SALTED CARAMEL PRETZEL BARK
The pretzel bark can be stored in an airtight container or in the refrigerator, for about two weeks. It can also be frozen for about one month.
This tastes just like the fancy pretzel bark you can buy at COSTCO…only its a lot cheaper! This also makes a great gift to give to your friends! They will think you are a great cook AND a great friend! But make two batches so you can enjoy some too!
DOES PRETZEL BARK NEED TO BE REFRIGERATED?
This salted caramel pretzel bark will keep at room temperature just fine. It does not need to be refrigerated unless it is a little warmer in your home and you want to keep a little firmer or keep the chocolate harder.
