HALLOWEEN DINNER IDEAS
I love this fall season, don’t you? Every year I throw a fun and festive Halloween Dinner or Halloween Party for my friends and family. I know how much time it can take to plan and then decorate…on top of making the dinner! So, I thought I would share my Halloween Table Decor so you don’t have to make it yourselves. We have got you covered!
I also created a nice list of some different Halloween food ideas for your party. The list covers everything from Halloween appetizers, drinks, main dishes, desserts and more. Check it out here.
HOW TO PLAN FOR A HALLOWEEN PARTY
You can pretty much do what you want to for your halloween dinner party that you think your guests will enjoy. Here is a basic outline to give you some ideas for adding some structure to your party to keep you organized and to bring some mood and a festive atmosphere.
- Set a date, time and location and send out invites by text or hand delivered.
- Make a guest list.
- Establishing a fun theme can help you come up with ideas for food, decor and games
- Set a budget and grab someone to help bring food or game/activities.
- Put fun food fillers around to bring up the spookiness level.
- Organize a couple of halloween games, activities or halloween crafts to keep your guests entertained.
- Make a spooky song list to have playing in the background of the party.
- Send your guests home with a fun halloween party favor.
HOW TO DECORATE FOR A HALLOWEEN PARTY
I start by decorating the area where the party will be located. This usually includes the kitchen and table and the family room where the activities will be located. I also decorate the front porch and the entry way the guests will be entering my home.
I use my regular halloween decor and then add some fun little details. If you have a theme it makes it fun to follow along with that. Anything will work from spider webs and giant spiders to ghosts, pumpkins and more.
Here are some fun halloween items I pull out for the party every year.
- halloween cauldron or this one
- halloween platter
- skull bowl
- hanging witch hats and floating candles
- ghost pitcher
- serving bowl black and white
- spider web salad plates
- pumpkin bowl
ADDITIONAL HALLOWEEN PARTY DECOR IDEAS
- Halloween ghost
- spiders and spider webs
- bats
- skulls
- tablecloth
- apothecary poison bottles and serving tray
- apothecary labels
- mini pumpkins and gourds
- platter for halloween food
- candlesticks and candle holders
- glass cloche
- skeleton hand
HOW DO YOU SETUP A TABLE FOR HALLOWEEN?
I love to keep my halloween tablescape on the simple side. Once you add the food platters and everyones plate, the table can become cluttered and crowded. I also like to add some fun touches to the serving trays the food is on so that it feels extra fun and festive.
- Start with a nice tablecloth unless you will have kids or a really messy dinner then throw on a plastic cloth that can be disposed. This will help with a quick clean up.
- Add a centerpiece.
- Add a plate and salad plate if needed and silverware.
- Add glasses and napkins.
- Use fun platters, trays and serving bowls to decorate the table.
HALLOWEEN DINNER MENU
Every Halloween it has been a tradition in our home to have a fun Halloween Dinner. Sometimes it has been a really simple dinner depending on what our schedule is like, and sometimes it has been pretty elaborate with some fun and spooky Halloween recipes.
